Announcing Pixel Punch: A Student Exhibition at SCDS

min read

The Sherman Centre for Digital Scholarship is pleased to present Pixel Punch, the inaugural exhibition showcasing student work from Media Arts 3Z03: Production and Critique (Professor Chris Myhr). The exhibition is currently on display across the media walls of the centre, located in Mills Memorial Library at McMaster University.

Pixel Punch highlights a selection of final projects developed by upper-year students in the Media Arts program. Participants not only volunteered to exhibit their work but also took part in the planning and curatorial process—gaining hands-on experience in public presentation and exhibition design. This year’s featured artists are: Wilson Cheng, Eloise Jin, Andrew Marmolejo, Braydon Tress, Wren Tryon, Yi Wen, and Junqi Zhu

Media Arts 3Z03 offers Level 3 Media Arts students an opportunity to propose and develop an independent creative project of their choice. The course also helps students  evolve strategies for the analysis and critique of photography, video, sound, design, code, etc. One of the primary objectives of 3Z03 is to prepare students for the challenges of developing their final Thesis projects at Level 4, as well as the demands of the professional creative sphere.

Pixel Punch will be on view through the end of May.
