Code of Conduct

This applies to Sherman Centre for Digital Scholarship events and events that take place in the Sherman Centre space.

Community Guidelines

The Sherman Centre and the McMaster University Libraries are committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for its presenters and participants. By attending the session, participants agree to support and help cultivate an experience that is collaborative, respectful, and inclusive.

We reserve the right to remove participants who exhibit disruptive behaviour, which includes but is not limited to:

  • Language or media that is sexist, racist, ableist, or otherwise discriminatory in nature
  • Participating in or promoting harassment, bullying, or intimidation
  • Stalking or doxxing
  • Disrupting others or disallowing their participation
  • Using social or mainstream media to harass or cast aspersions on individuals participating in the session

Anyone experiencing or witnessing this type of behaviour during events are asked to bring this to the attention of the presenters (through private message), or by contacting Sherman Centre administrators at scds@mcmaster.ca.

Accessibility

We strive to make this event accessible to everyone. Where possible, sessions are recorded and include live captioning, and we will share recordings, slides, and transcripts afterward so you can revisit the content at your own pace.

Because these materials are provided, and to help protect participant privacy and consent, we ask that attendees do not use AI note-taking or automated recording tools (such as Otter.ai, Fireflies.ai, Zoom AI Companion, or similar apps) without prior permission from the organizers.

To make an accessibility request, please contact the Sherman Centre administrators at scds@mcmaster.ca. We are glad to accommodate wherever possible.
