Learning Resource Development Assistant
Description: The Sherman Centre’s learning resource developer collaborates with Sherman Centre staff to develop material created from its many previous workshops into learning resources that meet the needs of learners within and beyond McMaster. Working under the direction of the Sherman Centre’s Academic and Administrative Directors, the developer combines media editing and creation skills with pedagogical best practices to create highly engaging and effective learning objects that may be reused by instructors and learnings in face to face, hybrid, or virtual learning environments. The Developer also assists with planning for the Centre’s upcoming workshop and event series.
Assets: Experience creating and editing media; interest in creating effective learning materials; experience with and/or willingness to learn about a variety of digital platforms including GitHub, Echo360, and WordPress.
Pay and Hours: $15.50 per hour; 35 hours per week

McMaster Experts Student
Description: This student will work with the McMaster Experts and Bibliometrics teams to continue building a central repository of information about the scholarly and artistic works of McMaster’s researchers. They will also help build analyses and dashboards that use this information to provide insight into the nature of scholarship at McMaster and beyond.
Assets: Strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently, while coordinating with a larger team. Strong problem-solving abilities. Ability to integrate information from multiple sources to solve problems. Working knowledge of spreadsheets. Programming skill and data analysis experience preferred, but not required.
Pay and Hours: $15.50 per hour; 35 hours per week

Research Data Management Assistant
Description: Provide routine assistance for Research Data Management Services, part of the Sherman Centre and the Digital Research Commons Pilot. Work is performed under close supervision and in accordance with established procedures.
Assets: Knowledge of Research Data Management (RDM). Strong writing and communication skills. Research experience including independent study projects or experience as a research assistant.
Pay and Hours: $15.50 per hour; 35 hours per week
